Does it offend me in particular? Not any more or less than any other enemy would, so it's all the same trash to me. But using them makes you appear to have the maturity of a 13-year old.

so you started off calling someone who wasn't gay a fag, but it's ok, because they weren't gay. then you started calling people who weren't jewish, jewish, but that's ok because they weren't jewish. now you call someone who IS mexican a wetback beaner... except he is. that's the equivalent of calling a black person a nigger, which i have every reason to believe you would actually be too cowardly to do anyway.
congratulations, you've shown exactly why these things matter. because you are now incapable of telling the difference between 'pretend' insults and real ones.

I didn't know you were actually Mexican. I just thought Skyhawk called you that because you were latino. Regardless, it's just words, don't get pissy about it.

Sergio's opinions remind me of the Lionel Messi racist stories, he maintained that in South America racial slurs were terms of endearment. Actually so did Luiz Suarez. The player it was directed at was offended, so deciding yourself that it is not offensive is not the same as it actually not being offensive. Pretty simple when you think about it. Don't do it.

I used to say "gay" a lot. I always said I thought of it like how Luis CK put it... "When I call someone a faggot I don't mean it because I think they're homosexual, I say it because they're being a faggot!" (paraphrasing). Then I listened to Macklemore and Ryan Lewis' song "Same Love", which had the lyrics:
"Call each other faggots
Behind the keys of a message board
A word rooted in hate
Yet our genre still ignores it
Gay is synonymous with the lesser"
Pretty much what this said to me was that it doesn't matter what you mean when you say something, you also have to consider what other people will think of it. Not everyone thinks just like you. Jewish people will probably take a little bit more offense to "jew" jokes than non-jewish people, same with gay people. And people seem to forget that's what homosexual people are, they're gay people. But because people keep on use the word "gay" in negative light, it puts gay people under the same light.
tl;dr when you say something bad is gay, you are associating gay people with bad things.
