python path on mac

Posted 19 December 2012 - 08:28 AM

First steps in python causing me a problem
If I enter python in a terminal it returns python2.7.3
When using textwrangler it returns 2.7.2

How can I make the path default to 2.7.3

This works by pasting into a terminal but not from textwrangler
#! /usr/bin/env python
import cv2

This has to be a shell issue. My guess is that when you open your terminal your are using bash (#!/bin/bash) and textwrangler is using sh (#!/bin/sh).

I would looked to make sure your PATH variable contains the same directories for both shells.

Remember that env isn't smart or magical, it simply passes off the given command to the current shell so that the PATH variable can be used.
