IE and Yahoo at their best

Posted 19 December 2012 - 11:18 AM

So I noticed that I haven't used IE for more than just download chrome and some windows updates with it so I thought I should try it out a bit, for lets say 2-3 days and see if it have improved. And this is what I got:
Posted Image

Long story short: I opened IE and I got that warning. I checked "DO not show this again" and clicked disallow. Then bum, hello, that warning again. I did the same thing and again it appeared. Then I started trying to close it using the X button but Yahoo fought back and started annoying me to click allow. I was weak and seeing that I will be losing the battle I just alt+f4 IE and ran crying to chrome.

Is This A Good Question/Topic? 1

What's the take away? The lesson learned? You need to take a class on using IE?

Odd.. we have plenty of users at work that only utilize IE... and I do see the familiar purple chat bar up at the same time.. either they are lying about it all working or.. well.. you know.

Well yeah, it should work fine. But the guys at Yahoo are used to stressing you out and doing what they want so when you install yahoo messenger they automatically install that annoying bar in IE and that is the reason for the error not letting me do anything until I click allow.
Also IE is pretty dumb considering I clicked and selected for it to not annoy me and just let me browse the web and it doing the opposite.

They automatically installed a toolbar? Seems really doubtful. Looks like you just attempted to jump on the IE hate circlejerk by installing a bunch of bad toolbars. Sorry bro, that train past years ago.

Yes, theyit did. It always does. You don't have an option to not install the toolbar when trying to install YM. I never install toolbars. Ever.

Our users tend to click the 'do not install toolbar' button on the install... maybe it's fear of having to call us when their browser goes to pot, or the education that "install the minimum and you should be okay".. but haven't had a call about that.

I tend to tell people the same because I don't know more than 2 people who actually use those toolbars, especially from Yahoo.
