If you like good movies, and/or you like visually-appealing movies, this one will blow you away.
Worst kinds of movies... eva!
Agreed. The sheer volumes of people saying it's fantastic makes me think it'll be a very mediocre movie. I also couldn't make sense of the trailer for the life of me. But I enjoy going to the movies anyways, and I'm sure it's an alright movie.

I saw The Hobbit and was rather disappointed with it. I liked the book for its wonderful literary value as well as being short, but unfortunately, the Hobbit added too many plot elements NOT present in the book for me. Though to be fair, the trilogy cut too much stuff out, which stinks just as much.
I've heard a lot of people complain about that movie, anything from it being too much not-like the book (which was to be expected) to it being too short. Honestly I enjoyed it from the beginning to the end. The only quarrel I had with it was that I felt it ended too abruptly, but I guess it's hard to find a proper "movie-ending" for the first part of a book that doesn't end until much later. It's been so long since I read the Hobbit though that I can't say that it's really fresh in my mind. Only thing I can think of right now is that I think I recall there being only 2 trolls vs. the 3 in the movie (major difference, eh).
But in any case, I'd definitely recommend that movie to anyone.
