If yes, then no, you won't enjoy a chromebook.
I have a friend who interned for Google last summer and they made them use chromebooks. He says it is basically a crippled version of Linux. Your terminal is used for pinging things and opening ssh connections, but Google advises against using the terminal's ssh client as it is buggy or something along those lines. The filesystem doesn't allow you to create directories, in fact you can only access the downloads folder. Basically, you are spending $200 for a web browser.
