Then again, I am a Libertarian at the purest and I feel that a lot of laws violate my basic rights.

So do you believe this part of your post, or do you believe the rest of your post?
'Cause everything else you said is pretty much the opposite of libertarian.

well as a libertarian then i would also assume you find a company completely within it's own rights to distribute in a digital only marketplace (which again, is nothing more than speculation) if they so choose. it is their product to sell as they please just like it is your choice to not buy the product.

goddamnit jon.

SuperSloth said it about right. I believe the company is within it's rights to distribute in a digital only market place, and I reserve the right to request physical media. The problem with digital only comes in when those companies can restrict our access to the content we've already purchased, like Amazon apparently did to the poor woman in that article.

As a purist libertarian it's my belief that there should not be any laws that restrict what I do unless what I do is nearly guaranteed to harm another. This of course does imply a bit of personal perception in the application of that concept.

The point I was attempting to make is that sure, it may be their product to sell and do with as they please but once I purchase it, that copy is then my property to do with as I please. But that doesn't seem to be the case these days, as companies take more actions to control what we can and can't do with products after we've purchased them, which limits my own liberties with the product.

first of all: little s.

second of all: you are not a purist libertarian.

THIRD of all: that's not true at all. you AREN'T allowed to do with a product as you choose. physical products and media (whether they come on disc or come over an ethernet connection) are NOT the same, and until you can wrap your head around it you are never going to be pleased.

I believe that all products should use the WTFPL.

Sure - unless they choose to offer it under some other form of license, and you choose to accept that deal.
Libertarianism sort of requires that you be free to enter into contracts freely, which means they can offer you any terms they want to, and you can either take those terms or not.

Apologies, I posted from my phone.

Most commenters mentioned Arduinos or Pis as methods of restriping to piss on sony's parade. I think it would be rather entertaining to watch Sony try and prosecute for that nonsense.
