show retail price in separate on clicking products

i hve a pos screen in rms (retail management) for tht when i click on the products drop down list,i waNt to add a functinality tht on clicking a product in the drop doWn list the retail price of the product loads into a separate retail price text box and its editible mode is made false...I DUN`T KNOW HW TO DO IT.. CN ANYONE TELL ME HW TO DO IT ?

Brutal text-type.. but I think I know what you are looking for. First question - why would you want the drop down item to be clickable? why not just capture the drop down's "index change" event and go from there?

The question is - why are you looking to have a clickable link inside the drop down? The drop down control has a 'selected index changed' event that you can tap into and load the selected information after the user chooses an item. I mean - that is typical drop down list behavior and I am wondering why you would add an extra step to it.

would it be on text changed or selected index changed event?Plus as i stated earlier i have to load the retail price text box automatically as i click on the product name in the dropdown list..how would i connect the textbox with the dropdown?

Which ever one suits your needs best. I tend to lean towards the latter one.

The drop down has nothing to do with the textbox outside of triggering the event on the 'index change'. That event then goes back to the database, grabs the relevant data, puts it into some collection (datasets are my typical go to choice), and then reads through the data filling various this (like your textbox) or what not.
