I learned the programming languages via the online tutorials by E.balaguru samy and Yashwanth kanethkar. Daily we have to practice at least one coding by our own that's the good tips to become a programmer. :bananaman:

Don't know if I really can call whatever it is I do with programming languages "learning". Mauling? Torturing? Eviscerating? Yes, I brutally digest programming languages, that would make more sense.

well,
don't just read and move on..!
whatever you're learning, use it regularly.
practice a lot, write a lot of codes, enjoy, be curious....drink lot of water and sleep properly.

peter norvig wrote an awesome essay, maybe you'll like it.

Remembering code is a big pain. I completely understand your struggle.

What I've done to try and battle this pothead memory is create a website!

1: Create a website!
-This will give your a reason to continue your studies

2: Do MASSIVE TUTORIALS!!
-Do tutorials that are INTERESTING to you. Don't do one that is overly complicated. Keep it simple and quick put it in use.

3: Surround yourself by communities

-What better way to learn than from the people that already know.

I'm pretty new to this as well. Feel free to send me a pm if you feel like goofin off on some php, or any kind of code for that matter.

2 heads are always better than 1.

I think I read a far too long book to learn my first language, but now I just read a website or small book to learn the languages syntax, which will take one or two days. From them out its just using the language and when I come across something I can't do I google it.

I find it more important to learn to ask the right question as opposed to learning a new language, with so many different varietys with so little variance a lot of times its better to know how to find the answer then the answer itself...but maybe thats just me...and cocain :taz:

I don't know any programming languages. I just outsource my projects to other countries at a fraction of the price I charge.

...

Oh wait, I shouldn't be saying this... shit. I hope Rahjit doesn't hang out on this forum.

There is only one way that will help you not to forget, a lot of practice everyday. There won't be any week gap to make you forget :D
