How to put blog posts in a scroll box

Posted 29 January 2013 - 07:47 AM

For Blogger,blogspot, How to put blog posts in a scroll box for every single main post only, and not have it appear on the home page. When I apply this code
.post {
height:200px;
overflow:auto;
}

it works perfectly, but, it shows up on the home page posts, and I only want it to show up on single post pages. And I don't want to do it manually for every single post either by adding a code like

.scrollbox {
height:100px;
width:400px;
overflow:auto;
}

+

[code]<div class="scrollbox">TEXT TO BE INCLUDED IN THE SCROLLBOX.</div>[/code}

You could cheat: give the body tag of your home page an id 'homepage':

.post {
    height: 200px;
    overflow: auto;
}

#homepage .post {
    height: auto;
    overflow: hidden; /* or inherit perhaps */
}

This applies the height and overflow to all post elements, but then overrides it for the home page.

May I attach the template, and you try it in blogger with that template and tell me if it works?

I don't use blogger; maybe someone else does.

If you gave the body tag the id I mentioned, and created the css-rules, then it should work. If not then:

There is another css-rule somewhere that is over-ruling the ones you've just defined; or,
The blogger-framework is over-writing your attempt to customize it.

It would be easier if you provided a link to your page.

In your linked page the body doesn't have an ID and the rule for .post says height: 600px;. So I can't see where you have made the changes that I mentioned.
