And really doubtful through long-out-of-date VB6.
What are you thinking... some sort of DNA biometric sensor to replace a fingerprint scanner on your laptop? Not going to happen this decade. Your prof has been watching too much SyFy channel.

The OP probably was told that VB would be able to do instantaneous DNA recognition by his professor; who hasn't even taught the kids there is a difference between VB6 and VB.NET.
Sure sign to withdraw from the school ASAP and try to get his tuition money back.
The OP mentions the US like it is not their home country. Maybe in the OP's country they still use VB6 - along with fax machines, cassette tapes and giant cell phones.
