There's this book that John Perry wrote last year about structured procrastination. I can honestly say that I've been meaning to read it, but I haven't got around to it yet. But I hear it's good. Mostly from my father, who's a colleague of Perry's. He hasn't read it either...

I usually procrastinate only when I don't have a clue how to start something. If I at least have an idea about it, I like to dive right in.

I do kind of the opposite.

If I know how to do something, it bores me. I will learn something new in order to delay doing something I know I can do.

For example: I should be working on my android app, or at the very least finishing development of my EDIFACT -> X12 converter

To procrastinate: I am learning octave and shogun instead, while watching Stanford lectures on machine learning, and taking a break from that by reading Pattern Recognition and Machine Learning.


Octave is badass, btw.
