CMS Systems.

Posted 31 January 2013 - 06:11 AM

Hi guys,

I am currently learning about using CMS (Content Management Systems) and I am currently starting building a sample site using this system. I was just wondering why are content types and their relationships important in a CMS (Content Management System)?

Hello there,

When you say "using" CMS, I assume you mean actually using pre-built ones rather than building your own interfaces? If so, I am not quite sure this question belongs in Javascript.

When you speak of content-types, I am going to assume you mean the ones you are specifying in script tags such as application/javascript and/or text/javascript that you use in the script tags. These are used to tell the browser loading the script what language it is in, so it knows how to use the code.

Now, supplying content types for script tags is generally not needed these days because the MIME type is sent down by the server when it downloads the code, so it's more or less discarded and wasteful.

This isn't really a Javascript question. Moved to Web Development.
