Question: Good tools for starting out in web development?

Hi,
I'm wondering what tools you would recommend for starting out in web development? All I have right now is Notepad++ and Textastic for iPad/iPhone. Any applications/tools/resources I would be able to use to streamline development a little?

The pinned thread 'start here' has a link to 'dev tools' You may want to investigate that.
