How to port SimpleDirect Media Layer to run on my own kernel and GUI?

Posted 01 February 2013 - 02:32 PM

I know SDL will run on Mac, Linux and Windows, and I'm not so sure what dictates this, maybe a simple #if or conditional logic of some sort on the developer's behalf, but I'd like to know the utmost essentials and basics on how I'd manage to port the open-source library to work on my own self-developed kernel and GUI. Thanks!

"Self-developed kernel" as in your little implementation of an OS?
