So I think this is really interesting.
Do you think, that at some point we are all creating a global AI, or is it still just a database, that serves us day by day?

the typography is the whole point of the video. that's the format he chose to explain his point and he used it very well. that's kind of the equivalent of saying cartoons are weird for being hand drawn.

Actually it was a joke around the fact that Kram keeps reminding me how I edit almost every single post I make. Though cartoons are quite weird for being hand-drawn.

I must say, I really like that video. It brings up a lot of great points and I do think we will eventually lead to a global AI. I think the more important thing is if that global AI will be taught the right things. Like a person who thinks for themselves, they make decisions based on how they were raised and the values instilled in them throughout their lives. Will myspace, facebook, even britneyspears.com really teach it the right things to grow up into a good thing or a bad thing?

Personally I think it may grow up to be a horrible thing if we don't change our ways. I just hope the AI is born in a time where we as people have achieved a kind of peace that will allow it to see that humanity is not horrible. An AI born in a world where we are at war with one another is going to lead to an AI like in the matrix. One born during peace may lead to an AI that helps humanity like in that one sea quest episode where it sees humanity as its children and protects them.

On a more serious note, I'd like to know how all this typing on the internets is suppose to produce an intelligent AI.

Or for that matter, why random computer code/information could even produce an AI in the first place. Sounds more like Hollywood/I, Robot (with Will Smith!!) than reality to me.
