2d graphics and input library?

Posted 13 February 2013 - 07:45 AM

I'm looking for a library to handle simple 2d graphics and player input through mouse clicks. Is there anything available other than SDL+OpenGL to handle this?
Things like Unity also seem to be overkill for just creating a small 2d prototype.

Nothing wrong with SDL other than that I simply want to know what options are available. It's for Windows PC.

What language do you plan to use? Or don't you care?

Since you mentioned SDL I assume C/C++ (though I'm sure it has ports to other languages). Other than the libraries named above, SFML is also a nice C++ library.
