How to convert PCM data into Binary Raw data and vice versa

Hi All,

I am trying to write an application which can convert PCM data to Binary raw data and vice versa using C programming language.
Need idea from experts for the same.

I am going to put this over in the C C++ forum as it would probably get better C traffic there.

Can you please explain what is PCM? Give us some PCM inputs and their equivalent binary outputs so that we can come up with some logic.
