Most specifically web programming. I am obtaining an Associate's in Internet and web development in a couple semesters, and I was wondering what should be done prior to finding work. I don't care what it takes to get there, I just want to know how one ventures out to get l the experience needed, since every employer wants a candidate with experience. Thanks DIC, cheers.

How to get some experience? Do some web development. Get some private projects on the go. Make something you like the look of. The only way you getter better is by doing.

You do the exact same thing you would do for any job:
- Beat the bushes,
- Apply everywhere for entry level jobs
- Settle for internships if you can get one
- Take any job you can get that is even remotely in the right area.

I would say the first thing that you could do is create a personal website or online portfolio. Even if it doesn't have a lot of fancy graphics, this will give you some experience in your field of web development and help to separate you from the fierce competition. Hope this helps

Personal projects are the way forward for any career it seems, because now everyone seems to have a qualification/degree you need real work experience to become the best candidate.
