Member Colours

Just noticed that there seems to be some problems with the font colours of some members in the top 20 rep earners of the month.

For example raghav.naganath has suddenly become a webmaster and burakaltr has become a moderator. Or is this just for me?

Yes, his nick is 'bold' which can be confused with blue. & yes, he's a rep-abuser, which is why he shows up on your rep list despite not really knowing what he's doing.

Don't I get a special color for being a noobie abuser? <laugh>

So if we can even specify this guy is a rep abuser with a special color, why can't we just turn off his ability to rep, period? Isn't that the right thing to do by way of the other users *being* abused?

That's precisely what the group does- it inhibits the member from giving reputation. He can still receive reputation, though.

Doesn't that kind of ruin the point though? I mean surely the reason who was put in the group is because he was giving himself rep? This doesn't stop that.

Well, It was indeed a pleasant surprise for me today when I logged in to my DIC account and was greeted with a 'greeter' badge and a DIC++ badge :)Wow...that surely brightened up my day :)

I would like to thank whoever gave me the badges :)

Thank you very much :) Feels great to be red :)

regards,
Raghav

And yes, wouldn't it be better to turn of the rep ability of XPSWII...as you can see that most of the reputation points 'earned' by burakaltr are from that member.

regards,
Raghav

I can't believe people make multis here and abuse the rep system. What on earth is in it for them? I know you get a DIC++ account if you become Mentor (I think Expert as well), but that's more of a prestige thing in my opinion.

The same reason people would rather ask for the answers than ask for help learning.

Ego building
