VB Programs

Posted 07 August 2007 - 11:39 PM

Ok well im taking a VB program in college right now. I was wondering if its a programming language to start on and hardly ever use after i learn more... or is VB a language that is really worth learning because i will use it later on in my programming career?

VB.NET is a great language to start off with.
You don't need to worry about your programming career as knowledge of .NET is always a big plus.

I don't know what the situation is in your country, but in India Java is more popular than .NET. But .NET is slowly gaining popularity out here.

It depends on your job, I'm a .Net Developer so thats all I use -> VB.Net, C#, ASP.Net. IF you get a position as a Java or C/C++ developer you're more than likely not going to be using .Net all that much, but with the changes they're making in the .Net Languages over the next couple of releases I imagine it's going to be the way of the future (like I said, thats just my opinion)
