Hey guys, I would greatly appreciate you taking a minute to read my situation before answering my question. I'm an intermediate Java programmer, I have a solid grasp on most of the concepts but admittedly not a lot of out-of-classroom experience. My goals for my future are to become a game programmer, and I want to do it using Java (largely because that's what we're taught at my school instead of C++ or C#). But because of my lack of out-of-classroom experience I really have no idea where to start. So here's the question:
Does anyone know of a step-by-step book, tutorial or guide on how to create a game using Java, and if not for C++ or C#?
If possible, I'm looking for something that applies to real-world situations rather than classroom learning exercises. Meaning something that game programmers actually follow when creating their games.
Thank you so much to anyone who helps!
