sorry, i am not even sure how to ask the proper question.

so there is this terminal that is connected to something like a lotto center and gets live realtime lotto drawing results.

the terminal/machine (embedded system?), i think, does not use the common operating systems like linux/unix/dos/pc. when someone purchase a lotto, you just enter the numbers, and hit a purchase button, and the numbers are sent to the lotto center. when the drawing results are out, it will immediately show the results on the screen.

how do i communicate with such machine using a pc, grab realtime lotto drawing results, and submit purchased numbers, etc? and use what programming language?

More than likely you don't. Typically lotto systems are proprietary.. you know.. to prevent people from trying to make fake tickets sans sales and what not.

First off, of all the forums to put this in, what compelled you to use the lounge?

Secondly, with the incredibly limited amount of information you're giving us, I suspect a good answer will be impossible. All we really know is that you're trying to communicate with a machine that uses a non mainstream OS and doesn't have a mouse.

Thirdly, is someone trying to hack the lotto?

there are a lot of websites that display realtime lotto drawing results which are supposedly from the same type of terminals.

also the lotto drawings are held every 10 minutes, so it's practically impossible to manually enter/submit the purchased numbers when there are a lot of orders. the above mentioned websites also accept online orders, so they must be able to enter/process the orders using some kind of software communicating with the terminals.

i am trying to build a similar website. now i am temporarily grabbing the results from one of those sites. i can take orders, but i cannot process the orders manually. i dont have a clue where to even start with..

Why would you assume they are communicating with the terminals? Why not the company who is running this lotto having a webservice or api to pull the numbers back? That would be more reasonable.

I have no idea about this sort of thing. It sounds like... you want to sell lotto tickets? If that's the case, I'd start here.

from what i know, if such api exists, it would probably require some very expensive license.

Well yeah.. probably. So call up the people the lottos go through and price it out. Trying to kludge your way there without paying is a no-no.
