I'm trying to make a toon (cel) shader for my model in directx 10. I've looked online for help and even this site but everything I find is several years old and I can't get it work. The most recent website I tried is this one http://rbwhitaker.wi...om/toon-shader. It says to copy the code into a .fx file so I copied it into the existing .fx file in my project, but when I run it the window opens but it gets a pop up saying 'could not create shader DefaultShader'. Any help is appreciated.

Without knowing what your code looks like or what you have altered - it might be better if you contact the author of that site's tutorial. You know - get it directly from the horse's mouth.

Don't just copy and paste code, learn to understand it.
BTW, of course it wouldn't work because your code is likely structured differently with different versions of stuff.
