Web search APIs?

Posted 14 March 2013 - 02:40 AM

Apologies if this is the wrong forum, it was the best I could find!

Does anyone know of any APIs out there that would allow a string to be passed to it and it return a number of relevant websites. As far as I know Yahoo's costs money and Google's is deprecated in favor of their Custom Search or something.

Thanks for any help

How stripped down is that? I just want something as simple as being able to pass it a string and return an array/JSON/xml.
