I am building a web app in asp mvc3 and I have a comments section on one page, it will just be a textarea, and I need to keep track of any changes to it. The app is for tracking orders. Each account has a record, and in the 'profile page' is the comment section. I need to keep a record of each 'iteration' of comment, so if the original one says "Likes red leather", then a couple weeks letter someone changes it to, "now like blue plastic", I need to track each comment, who made the change, when the change was made. THis is an internal app and we use AD credentials, so getting all the info is easy peasy.

What I am looking for is a tutorial or something on tracking this deep. I believe it is called auditing and I am researching a bit on the net but I am looking for multiple sources. I am thinking of creating a trigger that will add an entry in the audit table when ever a comment is inserted, updated, deleted, but let me know if there is a better way. Thanks.
