Linking an image/text to an iframe within a css panel

Posted 18 March 2013 - 10:20 AM

Hi

I have a problem with a website i have been working on that i just can't seem to get my head around.

here is the link GoldStar

The problem being - The links on the home page on the left under releases idealy need to be linked under Artists.

So by clicking the link eg Franka De Mille it would open the artist tab and open the Franka de Mille artist page within the Iframe as it is when you would click artists-franka de mille.

Closest i have got is to open the iframe but its within the home page and isnt going the route of the artist tab. That was by linking the more image to the artist tab and targeting with the iframe.

Any ideas on how i can fix this would be appreciated. Thanks.

<a class="p7tmm_page" id="p7TMM_2a38" href="Francis Harold &amp; The Holograms.html" target="myFrame">Francis Harold &amp; The Holograms</a>

That's what your link shows for that partuclar place that you need to do. Basically, when you click it, the target="myFrame" is what you need to put to make it go to the Iframe.

Must be missing something simple?

I have tryed the code but still not functioning as i hoped.

Still seems to be opening within the home tab.

What i am looking for is to click the links on the left within the home tab and the code would then open the artist tab > open the band/link inside the Iframe as if you were you click the artist tab select a band manually.

Thanks Koyume for the help. It's probably down to my lack of knowledge on the subject and not your instruction if you can revise or if anyone else has an idea on the matter i would be grateful, thanks.

A lot of it depends on what the name of your iframe is. that's why you use target="whateveriframenameis" in your link. Say, for example, I had an iframe named bob and the link I was going to was bobsHomeWorld.html. Basically the link would look like this.

<a href="http://example.com/bobsHomeWorld.html" target="bob">

There's also different properties that the target can use. Look at the following link to be see if these work.

See if any of those two methods work for you.
