Difficulty getting started freelancing

Posted 20 March 2013 - 02:38 AM

Hi, i have recently been trying to get into freelance programming seeing as i have a lot of free time now and need some money, but whenever I go on websites like freelancer, elance or oDesk it seems that i don't have half the skills that job posts ask for so i am afraid to bid on a job in case i am unable to complete the work, so if anyone could give me advice i would be very grateful, Thanks.

If you don't have the skills then find a common theme of skill sets and try picking those up.. that and shoot for smaller projects. I've seen a vast array of needs on those sites, and sometimes people say 'required skills' but really don't mean it.
