New Software Dev. Job

Posted 22 March 2013 - 05:17 PM

Hello all,

I am blessed with the good luck that I have been able to finally land an entry level job in Software development as an assistant/aide. However the crazy part is though I have learned C++, Java, .Net, SQL, and a couple more my new job will be dealing with Perl and C. Both of these are new to me, I do realize that most languages run in some basic form that follows the general rules but my question is about what to use start learning these on my own before my first day on the job. I wish to have some basis to go in with and build on what I hope will be a great career but well, I use VS 2010 and Eclipse, so I wanted to know what IED to use for Perl and C. If I could get input on what would be a good platform to use I would be most appreciative. I'm running Windows 7 for OS.

Thanks,
Wyvrin

Having no idea what your new job's dev environment looks like - have you tried just searching for "perl ide" and "c ide"?
