PROTIP: There are these things called search engines. For example, http://www.google.com. Pretty much everything has an answer that can found via these mystical "search engines". Including, I bet this question, if you ask it correctly. Try searching "godaddy node.js" and reading. Bet you'll be enlightened.

there’s an installer/binary on the node.js website.

this works, of course, only when you are allowed to install software on the server (no problem if it is your own).

The only way to install node.js on godaddy is to have a virtual dedicated or dedicated server with root access. if you try on a shared server it will give you security issues.

@OP - Learn Unix. Read the books Unix Power Tools and Linux Administration: A Beginners Guide to get started. That will answer questions far faster than we can and give you a good base to go on. It also helps if you proofread and type in proper english instead of scrawling about. That's a good way to get ignored fast.

@codinator - ...really?

yes really. linux and windows' installation methods for node js are different.
assuming the person does not know how node js works, there are 2 different types of windows node js [the exe file and the installer] one is integrated to cmd [environment variable], other one you have to drag to your directory n before executing...

and on linux its much easier, just sudo apt-get install if you re using ubuntu.

and mac version is something else

oh oops i misread. the person was talking about the windows version

And my reply wasn't all it could be as well, because it was a poorly-phrased question. I'm still not positive what the question is, whether the user is talking about installing on their local machine, or talking about installing to a Windows web server hosted by godaddy.

My point is pretty simple though; if you want general information about something -- you know, stuff that's probably pretty well-documented -- search the friggin' web first. THEN if you're stuck, you ask a question on a forum. We are not substitutes for your ability to type questions into a search engine.
