camera control commands (cgi) in javascript

Posted 09 April 2013 - 01:16 PM

Hello all,
I have just bought a heden ip camera.
I am trying to write a web interface to be able to control the camera from a distance as i don't like the one provided.
I Have this as a cgi code to change the contrast of my videostream
 http://xxx.xxx.x.xx:xxxx/camera_control.cgi?param=2&value=4&onestep=0&degree=10&user=admin&pwd=
.
The value runs from 0 to 5.
I am trying to create a slider to be able to assign 5 different contrast values to the stream.
Though I have very little base in javascript, and really can't fathom how to do it or what script to use and there is very little on the web on my problem.
If you have any advice about how to go about the problem I would be most thankfull.
Many Thanks

Moved to Javascript. Please note that Java and Javascript are two very different languages.
