Internet Explorer Background Ignored

Posted 10 April 2013 - 03:16 PM

Hi,

http://velvetbus.co.uk

For some reason on the site I've developed the background in the main content area completely goes over the width of the div. Does anyone know why this is? I've been reading up on IE compatibility issues and can't seem to find a similar problem.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Kind regards,
Joel.

Can you post your code relevant to the problem?

Hi Benign,

I suppose part of the problem is I'm not 100% sure about where the problem is being caused, but I'd assume somewhere around here:

#content-home {
	background-color: #242b3d;
	color: #ccc;
	padding: 16px 32px;
	width: 896px;
	margin: 0 auto;
	overflow: auto;
	position: relative;
	animation: main 1s;
	-webkit-animation: main 1s;
	z-index: 1;
}

@OP I took a look at your site but I'm not sure what I'm looking for? (Maybe you've fixed it..)

I wish I had! On Internet Explorer 9 you will notice that the main content box's background is stretched right across the whole screen completely ignoring the width of the div.

Nope, still can't see your issue :whatsthat:/>

The only thing I see is that the blue colour is slightly lighter on the left of your main content area than it is on the right, but this is because you are applying a filter/gradient to your body-tag.

BTW I find your navigation bar a little distracting as the pointer-cursor appears all the way across, without a gap; this makes me think that the whole navbar is a single link. You could ignore this comment - it's probably just me :)

FWIW and JMO but your slider moves too fast and is a little distracting.

Thanks for advice, keep it coming it means a lot! The links should have a hover background to remove the effect of feeling like it's all one link. Agree about the slider though, I shall tweak that!

IMO the hover background/change (for your navbar) could be more distinctive - it's hard to notice. If you want to keep the hover colour the same as (or very similar to) the main (navbar) background, I might make the initial background colour of these buttons darker, but I/you would need to experiment.
