In the mechanic world we call that cheating, but we certainly all cheat. ;)/>/>

Cheating or not. I have been in those situations where you need to loosen a 1-1/4 nut that has been rusted on for 30+ years. My solution? Use a torch (Oxy/Asc or propane will work. I prefer Oxy myself) to get her nice and hot and put a 1-inch breaker bar on it and slide a 20-Foot Iron pipe over it. After a few food pushes it came loose. I was honestly surprised it didn't break the nut off of the rod. I guess that's Good-Ole American Ingenuity for you!

There is no room for a 20' iron pipe when you are working in a wheel well.

Just to clarify,
It was the bolt that holds the caliper bracket in place. The brakes had improper wear on them due to a bad spindle and there where signs that things had gotten very hot.

Don't get me wrong I did use about half a bottle of PB Blaster, some liquid wrench, and then some good ole WD-40
All to no prevail. As for your caliper situation, either you went a while without changing them, or you have been doing some serious drifting, or you just slam on the brakes for everything. Jokes aside, heat may be your best friend here. Hear it up, then cheat it off.

tpaskell, the brakes got hot from the bad bearings on the spindle.

Well except from a 2500hd, I haven't had too much pleasure replacing bearings like that. I do a lot of trailer work though.
