If you haven't heard yet, udacity has struck a partnership with San Jose State University
to offer CSU(California State Uni) credits for some new courses they will be offering.
This is really neat to me since I am currently finishing up my degrees at SJSU.
Here is a link: SJSU Udacity Partnership
Basically it boils down to this: for $150 you will be able to earn CSU credits for a few
select udacity courses being offered by SJSU faculty. They currently include some remedial
math courses, intro to programming and psychology. While it isn't the most lengthy set of
classes, it definitely is a start! $150 may sound like a bit much, but compared to what
I pay at SJSU, it is a mere fraction (I think my summer tuition is around 3k and regular
full time semesters are around 3.5k).
This was the big step I was looking for Udacity to take. Hopefully this will encourage other
institutions to do the same and further democratize education.
What do you guys think?
