VB6 --> Windows Explorer --> VB6

Posted 30 April 2013 - 06:33 AM

Current OS Windows 7 x64

Current IDE VB6

Already familiar with how to "summons" Windows 7's "Windows Explorer" from VB6.

What I seek is, once I find a JPG using Windows Explorer, double click on that JPG, and then
have that JPG open in the Picture Box on my Form, (as opposed to) Windows opening that JPG in
its normally assigned Windows image viewer.

How do I grab, or, intercept Windows Explorer from opening the image in its native image viewer, and
instead, direct it back into my Picture Box?

Is this possible?

VB6? Really? Not VB.NET?

At best you can specify that your program is the default application for the extension .jpg - from there, your code can do whatever it should with the args it receives, which would be the path to the file.

Or, right click on your jpg and select Open With...using the exe for your program.
