Design for the sake of design accomplishes little. THe recurring trend I see is that the images and designs really do little if at all anything to capture the essence of the client and the message that they're trying to convey.
> You have a "Crime Family Soldier" with childish and tilted font.
> You're using the same 2-3 fonts on repeat just because they look cool to you. That's irrelevant, you're desiging for a client and their vision.
Realistically all I'm seeing are photoshop layer effects, colors, and free fonts thrown on an image without much preliminary thought done in regards to them. It's sloppy.
If you want to be good at design you need to step back, read and learn from various blogs and designer portfolios, and really breathe it all in. Design takes time, and cranking things out in under an hour is not impressive because design is not a race. Sure, some can pull off amazing things in a few hours, but these are professionals who do this for a living.
