Is this a security issue for my web project?

Posted 01 May 2013 - 01:22 AM

So, I developed a sandbox project(where people can add content to the website and edit it and all that) and I was wondering if someone(since it does allow people to add code, even javascript) would they be able to hack into my webserver? I want this project to work, but if people are capable of hacking into it I don't want to do it.

You're asking if allowing random users to add javascript code to be executed on your website is a security concern?

Yes... yes it is.

If you're not sure about it I wouldn't make a sandbox environment without some serious reading into CHJails, CHRoot, and other practices that are similar.
