        .imgView.fileName = imgPath & imgName
        .imgView.IResX = 300
        .imgView.IResY = 300
        '.imgView.AutoSize = ISIZE_ResizeImage

I have created a program which is more on loading an image. I have already finish my program but I have still a problem in running my program. My program is too slow because of large images.
I try this code to make the images lighter but it doesn't work.
Public Sub LoadImage(ByVal imgName As String)
    With Entry1
        .imgView.ScrollBars = SB_Both
        .imgView.ViewUpdate = True
        .imgView.ToolSet TOOL_Hand, IXMOUSEBUTTON_Left, 0
        .imgView.PageNbr = imgPage
        .imgView.fileName = imgPath & imgName
        .imgView.IResX = 300
        .imgView.IResY = 300
        '.imgView.AutoSize = ISIZE_ResizeImage
        .imgView.SaveFile
        .imgView.ZoomToFit ZOOMFIT_BEST
    End With
End Sub

Is there any way to make the images lighter? or to resize an image?
Any help will be accepted.

thanks

There are numerous open source libraries for image manipulation for .NET programs. But doing this in a 10-year defunct language (VB6) makes it hard to find out-of-date support.

Have you considered moving to VB.NET for your new projects?

I suspect it is actually vb.net.
Also you could potentially reduce it some more, by going with.
Public Sub LoadImage(ByVal imgName As String)
    With Entry1.imgView
        .ScrollBars = SB_Both
        .ViewUpdate = True
        .ToolSet TOOL_Hand, IXMOUSEBUTTON_Left, 0
        .PageNbr = imgPage
        .fileName = imgPath & imgName
        .IResX = 300
        .IResY = 300
        '.AutoSize = ISIZE_ResizeImage
        .SaveFile
        .ZoomToFit ZOOMFIT_BEST
    End With
End Sub

Thanks for the reply my friend. Yes I'm planning also to use VB.NET for this project but many computers in our company can't use my program if I use VB.NET .

Mod Edit: Removing redundant quoted post.

Thanks for the reply.. actually I have already use this code in my other program in VB6 and it works fine. Its ok if my image is in TIF format but this is my first time to use JPG images. I think there are other codes that can be use in JPG format..

Why? Did you go back and time and buy Windows98 machines?

If the file is too large, then the problem is probably with the file, not ImageExpress (I've never used it though). Can you edit the file in any way before loading it? If so, you might want to find ways to compress them or convert them to a different format.

I've merged your two duplicate posts. Please don't post the same topic twice. It confuses everyone.

Yes the file is the problem because it is very large.. I was trying to create a conversion program but I didn't start yet.. i don't know how to convert or compress this jpg file. I want to make the size smaller and that's solve the problem..
