Fair price on a thinkpad w530?

Posted 06 May 2013 - 03:31 PM

Have a friend trying to sell a w530 and looking for what a fair price to offer him is. It has 8gb of ram 500gb HD no DVD drive(guess he took it out) i7 processor. Any idea on what a fair price might be?

He pulled out the dvd drive? Why?

Assuming the MIA dvd drive is an example of the wear and tear he put on it, and that given new ones are 1300 I would say seven hundo would be about right.

I have no idea why he took it out or where it is. Im waiting to hear back from him with an explanation of what happened to it. Do you have any comment on the typ of computer it is for the money? I need it for college and am trying to save a few bucks.

I am not certain if the screen is the high-def or not, but from a quick skim of reviews it is bulky but a decent desktop replacement.. though for that sort of cash I might just go new.
