Dual Booting with Second HDD

Posted 09 May 2013 - 03:20 PM

I have two hard drives. A 500GB with only Windows 8 and a 250GB with 3 linux distros on it. I already have all of these installed to their hard drives. I was wondering if I could make my 500GB drive dual boot with my 250GB drive, so that I can choose which operating system to run on boot. I do not want to re-install the operating systems. Right now, to change the operating system, I have to change boot order in my BIOS, but I do not want to have to do that every time.

Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

You would need a boot loader of some sorts. Grub comes to mind.. as does easybcd.

tell you bios to boot your linux hard drive, then edit grub or what ever bootloader is on that HD to add widnows to the list. I cant remember but i think there is an automatic way of editing grub.
