So in response to the guy that said the thing about the links looking like flashkit, I actually sat and copied exactly what they had, cause it WORKS! And for you're design... it's not original, I've seen it elsewhere, I'll dig up the links for ya :)

I'm in a shitty mood today, and I'm going to take it out on you! If you're gonna bad mouth my shit, come up with something better, you don't run a community with over 150 members and tons of new resources and tutorials added each day, that's a TON of maintenance, you can critique all you want, but give me some feedback not just dissing on my design.

I'm 17, goto college, high school, work, my life, and everything else! ALL FULL TIME! That leaves about 30 seconds for sleep!

Supersloth, I think I can come up with a way to integrate the dropdowns into the first design, only problem with the first design is it's a little graphics heavy...

also I was thinking those orange "header bars" on the 2nd and 3rd designs were to "thick" might drop those down to one grid square thick and see how it all looks... I really like the second design, it's fast loading, very contrasty, moduler, scalable, and it's MINE!!! YAY!!

chill, little buddy!!! i almost imagine a pulsing vein on your forehead about to burst!!! not that i blame you... PreferredDesigner's remarks were pretty unfounded.

i like the second design, minus the cloud behind the logo. my suggestion would be to just add a bit of embossing here and there, maybe on the orange header bars and the grid on the left so there is less of a sense of 'flatness'. also, i personally like the greay tones used in the current site, but the addition of the orange elements is way cool! orange is the color of the year!

i really like the original and the first design better, but i have learned the hard way that function has to follow form in THIS world, so relax and go to town with what you think looks good- as long as it can handle the expansion that you plan.

oh yeah, i am really looking forward to watching this site develop.  is it set up for 1024/768? cause there are many of us still using 800/600...

it's all geared toward 800x600... I design on my laptop at 800x600 so everything fits quite nicely in 800x600

The second one might get some revamping with bevels to give it some depth... I'll play with the design

Wow, I was showing vetritous this OLD thread, and thought it would be really cool to bring it to the top for the new members to see, so you could see a few months ago what we were doing with the site.

Really cool to look back and think what the design could have been, thank GOD we chose what we did!

I have an idea that just occured to me... what about a logo for the site.... like a image of something or someone doing stuff.. I am sure with all of the creative geniuses in here.. we can come up with something.. and then do the site around that.. and you can create the merchandises around that image too...

hmm..tough choice, out of all of the designs, the first looked the cleanest, but it looks a lot like the flashkit design IMO.  for you to copy that design element wouldn't be such a great idea for many reasons - I'm not going to list now as it's 12:20 and i have to be up at 5:30 tomorrow :D.
