Trying to make colored images(logos) one color

Posted 10 May 2013 - 05:35 AM

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone knew how I could turn a logo white without losing the images detail.

What I'm trying to do is make some logos for the footer of my site one solid color, just like at the bottom of this site: SimpleTax: Free Canadian Tax Return Software

See how all of the logos are one color and match? That's exactly what I want to do with mine, but I'm not certain how to do it with Photoshop.

I'm an average Photoshop user and if anyone has any suggestions I'd greatly appreciate any help you can offer!!

Thanks,

R

You should be able to open up the image in photoshop... remove any background or blank areas.. create a new layer above it.. fill said new layer all white.. the right click on the layer -> create clipping mask and it should do the trick.

If your logo is transparent (probably .png) You can also double-click on that layer and choose Color overlay -> White and save it again as .png

you can also do it by adding a new layer, then select logo parts with multiple selection at the same time and then you can fill the white color, as far as i do in photoshop.
