ASP.NET Website creation

Posted 28 May 2013 - 11:42 PM

when I create new-> web site -> asp.net web site, visual Studio 2008 creates 2 folders. One is called mywebsite and the other is mywebsite(2). The mywebsite directory contains the Default asp.net server page, default.aspx.cs source file, and web.config file. The mywebsite(2) folder contains mywebsite(2) MS Visual Studio Solution and mywebsite(2) Visual Studio Solution User Options.

I tried two things:
1. corrected it by resetting their settings
Menu: Tools > Import and Export Settings -- and choose reset settings.

2. instead of saving to the Projects folder:
C:\Users\baxter\Documents\Visual Studio 2008\Projects\mywebsite
I saved it to the WebSites folder:
C:\Users\baxter\Documents\Visual Studio 2008\WebSites\mywebsite

But it didn't wrk. Visual Studio 2008 creates 2 folders one in Projects folder another in Website folder with the same name "mywebsite". The one in the Website folder contains the Default asp.net server page, default.aspx.cs source file, and web.config file. The one in the Projects folder contains mywebsite(2) MS Visual Studio Solution and mywebsite(2) Visual Studio Solution User Options.

Y is this happening ??? itz driving me nuts.. plzz help me out.. :helpsmilie:
