''''''''''''''''''''''SCALEMODE motherF------ '''''' almost killed 9 months of work

How it changed I don't know but actually it made a me a better programmer.

I now check for files existence using........ If DIR(filename)="" then goto xxx

I now check for valid dates using.......... if ISDATE(date$) = false then goto xxx

MAJ3091 you the man. This the first help I have received in 15 years of VB6 programming and I stand in AWE!

Thank again so much for your help. It is greatly appreciated.

If you want to see my first programming success that keeps the candles burning... hamptonsoftware.com

you dont always have to use the GoTo statement, if possible do the error handling inside the If statement or call to a different sub to handle the errors

GoTo statements are really horrible practice, actually. It's best to avoid them wherever possible. And it's possible in any modern language, except maybe assembly.
