Hosting on AWS using Tomcat

Posted 22 June 2013 - 03:14 PM

Hi all,

I'm trying to learn AWS by myself and I ran into some issues when I tried to create a servlet and deploy to Tomcat. I have to admit I don't have web dev experience so I'm just trying to follow the tutorial.
I created a java class (HelloServlet.java) in my Instance and compiled it with no problem. However, I cannot see this on my localhost nor using my AWS public IP. I also created the directory structure like:
java/tomcat6/webapps/hello    ->    WEB-INF    ->    class    ->    HelloServlet.class
                                                     web.xml        index.html
                                                     test     ->    HelloServlet.java

My question is how do I display the index page on my browser since I'm using AWS EC2.

Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0
