Default File in File Uploader

Posted 28 June 2013 - 03:01 AM

I have searched Google for answers but several forums say this is impossible.

I want to confirm it first with guys here in DIC.

I have a FileUploader and I want that on page load, there should already be a default filename inside.

The reason is because the user will have a default directory wherein the file will reside. The filename is also already set.

On page load, the file should already be inside the textbox of the FileUploader and user will only need to click the browse button in case the file is not found in the directory.

So, my question is... how to I set the filename inside the FileUploader textbox?

If not C#, maybe there's a work around with javascript?

It's alright if the file is not displayed on the textbox. I am thinking of telling the users that the default file will be downloaded if none is specified. But problem is, it wouldn't be uploaded by the ASP.NET FileUploader. How should I go about this? I know little of javascript so I thought of seeking for advice here.
