Tanked!

Posted 12 July 2013 - 02:13 PM

So, I know you all have seen my crazy stories about work, well now you can have your own little view into my world. One of our major clients, where I spend 95% of my work time at, is Nationwide Children's Hospital, and one of the projects is getting a special something something: an aquarium. And guess who is doing the install? These guys. That's right, my work is going to be on tv. It airs on August 16th I do believe on the Animal Planet. This particular part of this job, we didn't do too much on, but we did install one new thermostat and move an old pneumatic stat, because the old stat was in the way of the new fish tank. I'm about 1000% sure that due to the close proximity of that stat to the tank, it will be on the show, and you guys can be all like "oh wow, our beloved NeoTifa put that stat on the wall. Look how amazing it is!" Also, if you remember my story about those technicians getting ran over and killed by that bus, it was right in front of the parking lot for this job.

On a side note, no I will not be on tv. They put up a giant plywood barrier so we can't go in there because they're filming it at the moment. Sucks, because 1.5 of my fan coils are past that barrier, and I was supposed to be pulling wire to them. :/ Mildly inconvenient, but whatever. I did see the camera crews outside in a big huddle texting each other, but I haven't seen the actual people.

TL;DR: TV show Tanked guys installing tank on one of my job sites and it airs on the 16th of August.

Is This A Good Question/Topic? 3

Where's the autographs? Pictures with the guys? Smoozing? Maybe they need an able bodied assistant?

You know what they say, when you have an axe everything looks like a plywood barrier.

Shut everything down, and claim it's because this "magic" cable hasn't been pulled.
Then when it's pulled and at the moment it is connected have someone turn everything back on.
End of story, Neo is a hero and gets on TV. Flawless plan.

One of our coworkers has a sick kid there and I guess his wife got a pic with them because she's a big fan. I think the majority of the filming is done, and I heard right now they're just letting the salt water sit before they put the fish in. They'll be gone Monday. :(

I thought Neo got a word of appreciation from a Dubliner.

I thought this topic (from the title) would be about NeoTifa being called up for active service.

NeoTifa Tank Commander. :tank:

She knows how to handle a large caliber weapon. You know what I'm saying guys. :whistling:

Is that rifle even cocked? I can't tell from the picture and I don't recognise the model.

It's a bolt action. You wouldn't be able to tell if it were cocked or not most likely. Some bolt actions have visible hammers (a little round pin ball like plunger thing) but they are more rare in my observation (I'd say like 40% have visable hammers). It appears that the bolt is open so it wouldn't actually be able to fire in its current state.

On closer observation the the end does not seem to taper off like one without a visible hammer.

Came expecting drunk posts. Disappointful.

But cool! And when reading creativecoding's comment...

What, the show Tanked? are you sure?

Anyway Neo, you needed to talk to all of the workers for the show. Smooze with them and find out when the stars are going to be there. Then maybe you can be in the right spot at the right time to get to meet them.

That's how I meet Weird Al, talked to one of the T-shirt guys and he told me where to be and when. He even gave me some pointers so that I wouldn't make him made. :)
