Book Recommendations

Posted 17 July 2013 - 04:40 AM

Hi Guys,
I am going to buy some PHP books off of Amazon and was wondering what you guys recommend? I have already been told Murachs PHP is good, any others. I am interested in probably getting two, one to help me fit in PHP with other programming languages (Javascript,CSS etc) and one other to act as teacher/reference book. Thanks for your time guys :D

for a PHP Reference Book I’d use http://php.net/docs.php,
for JavaScript there is MDN,
and for CSS the W3C-Wiki.

PHP and MySQL for Dynamic Web Sites: Visual QuickPro Guide by Larry Ullman is a good book in my opinion.

But for reference you need the docs, linked by Dormilich.

I'm going to close this thread to defer discussion to our existing PHP Books thread.
