Im building an installer now for my desktop application.

The application uses the TMDB v3 API to retrieve the data for your movies

Haven't had time to update the sourceforge page with the details yet, ill do this tonight

Note.
After the installation , right click and "Run as Administrator" on the icon. There is a bug with permissions when writing to the hdd, so if you don't there will be no posters

** Homepage** (Completed)
Online / Offline mode
Online
Loads existing xml data first (movie details), if its not found it uses the internet
Offline
Only loads existing xml

Weather (Completed)
5 day forcast of the weather, 4 days can be collasped

Background Selector (90%)
Some built in backdrops that work well with the existing design and colours, user can select there own

** Movie Details **
Edit Movie Form (70% Complete)
Loads all the existing data into a new smaller window, allows you to modify everything that is available. Also includes a watched indecator

** New Movie Transfer ** (80% Complete)
Allows the end user to to copy a movie and move it to an external location. Drive details are displayed on the form (Flash drive)

** Edit Movies ** (90% Complete)
Poster Search
Click once and all of the existing posters stored on TMDB for the movie is displayed for selection

if there is no internet connection present or you simply switch to offline then the data is read from .xml

Background selector for the homepage
Choose from a range of provided backgrounds or set your own

Movie Transfer
Copy movies to external for fixed hard drives

I worked hard on the UI and was truly hoping this thread would give me some feedback.

Have you tried the software? the original version is still up on sourceforge, haven't had time lately to add the latest version as seen on the last few screens.

If you want the latest version id be happy to send it to you tonight although there is some minor bugs

Would love to know your thought around the design, look and feel of the application. I want to continue with the development of this application but need to know if im going in the right direction

Have not yet had time to try the application, but from the screenshots the GUI looks great. From the features list it looks like you have what most people would want. Maybe a link to a place you could get the movie might be helpful. Again I have not yet tried it, keep up the great work!
