I bought it recently, but only because I got it for ~40% off. It is very realistic: Someone was able to implement artificial gravity using centripetal force (a spinning wheel in space). It's also pretty challenging because it's so realistic, and it rewards creativity, planning, and problem solving. I wish I had more time to play it. I find that I gravitate towards fast-paced games like Tetris or first-person shooters when I feel like gaming. RPGs and even creative games like Minecraft get boring (unless you're making cool redstone contraptions and playing with friends). What computer are you going to get? Is your PC too slow to run the KSP demo?

I bought a second copy from steam during the sale, so that I could have a copy on there and one that's also DRM free.

I've seen that on youtube, very impressive when you actually compare the size of the wheel to the rockets you build.
