possible atari teenage riot later this year

You bitch! They canceled the Cleveland show (some years ago) due to low ticket sales. For Anarchists, they sure do care a lot about money.

I passed on seeing the Melvins last month, as I was knee deep in work. Nothing much going on lately for myself. Keeping planning on next year. Or the year after that...

Nail on the head there.

I can't stand anarchy in general despite listening to a lot of 'anarchy' music. ATR are one of those bands that overdo it, and I simply doing buy it as genuine. I love certain elements of their music and their live show is incredible, but do I agree with the philosophy of what they are saying? No.

I've seen the following in the last 6 months:

* KMFDM at... somewhere in Hollywood, can't even remember.
* Imagine Dragons/Nico Vega at the Hollywood Palladium.
* Imagine Dragons at the Wilshire Ebell Theater in Downtown LA, this was a private invite-only concert being filmed for Live From the Artists Den.
* Panic! At The Disco in Santa Barbara.

Next month I've got a ticket to OneRepublic and Sara Bareilles at the Greek Theater. In October I've got tickets to The Pretty Reckless at The House of Blues in Hollywood. I'll probably buy tickets to Twenty One Pilots in Ventura in November as well.

I saw Appleseed Cast a few months ago at a "living room show" that was actually in a coffee shop. Tickets are all pre-sale online (absolutely no sales at the door), so the environment is a bit more controlled and, well, mature. It was a really, really cool way to experience the band.

I've heard that about Red Rocks, I'd love to catch a show there. Who was with them?

gogol bordello, but we missed them. (i'm pretty ok with that. i've listened to them before and their shtick gets pretty tired after about 3 songs)

so, here when concerts start the ticket time will usually say 7, which means doors at 7 and first band at 8. i guess red rocks does things the right way and the time on the ticket is actually when music starts, so we didn't plan things correctly. someone i talked to in the beer line said they have a standing rule of 530pm doors, 7pm music, no matter who is playing. so keep that in mind if you ever go there. (also, parking is awful, but to make up for it they let you pre-game)

Yeah, I wouldn't lose too much sleep over missing them, but that's good to know. Red Rocks keeps sounding better and better. Hell, just getting the music going on time sounds good to me. I guess when the venue has enough pull of its own, they can dictate terms like that...
